About Dr. Diesselhorst
Matt M. Diesselhorst, M.D., was raised in rural Northwest Oklahoma, graduated from Fairview High School, and received his Bachelor of Science in Zoology/Biomedical Sciences from the University of Oklahoma. Matt then earned his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma, College of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Diesselhorst thereafter continued his specialty training by completing the Lake Tahoe Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine.
Dr. Diesselhorst is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with a Subspecialty Certification in Orthopedic Sports Medicine whose practice practice includes Orthopedic Trauma (Adult & Pediatric), Joint Replacement, and Diagnostic & Interventional Ultrasound.
Dr. Diesselhorst has a special interest in Orthopedic Sports Medicine and the care of athletes, and has advanced training in Arthroscopic Surgery of the Shoulder, Knee, and Hip, including Hip Labrum Repair Surgery.

About John Lazenby III
John Lazenby III, MHS, PA-C received his Bachelor of Science in Natural Science Education from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 2017, then his Master of Health Science in Physician Associate Studies from the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in 2019. During his time at OU, he performed clinical rotations all over the state of Oklahoma.
After graduation, John worked briefly as a natural science educator before working in gastroenterology, dermatology, general surgery, and urgent care at McAlester Regional Health Center over the course of several years. He’s now a member of the orthopedic surgery team here at Diesselhorst Sports and Orthopedics.
John is a member of both the Oklahoma Academy of Physician’s Assistants (OAPA) and the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). He also holds a wide variety of certifications and licenses, including a DEA license, an OBNDD Certificate, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and more.
